Convion

Convion OY (www.convion.fi/company.com) is a leading fuel cell system integrator committed to commercializing solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) systems in range of 50–300kW for distributed power generation. In January 2013 Convion took over Wärtsilä’s fuel cell program and continued development as an independent company, fully dedicated to SOFC system development. In spite of the young age Convion has significant background in the development of highly efficient SOFC systems. Since year 2000 Convion people have developed and operated several generations of 20 kW and 50 kW SOFC power units fuelled by natural gas and biogas. Commercialization of the first 50 kW units is planned for 2015. 

With the competence and commitment of Convion team, we will provide fuel cell products that meet customer needs of high energy efficiency and power security. Low emissions of Convion products provide sustainable and environmentally sound power solutions for distributed power generation applications. 

As a fuel cell system integrator Convion, will provide opportunities for various suppliers, partners and customers to participate in the ongoing commercialization of the fuel cell technologies. Convion is a young start-up company with employees currently 13 people having in average 14 years of experience in industrial product development. Convion owns extensive IPR portfolio and 120 fuel cell systems related patents or patent applications which provide global protection for Convion technologies. Convion has a highly experienced team with long-term R&D and project management experience. Convion management and research team comprises more than 250 man years of experience in SOFC system development. Convion is also a member of the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking NEW Industry Group.
